Carberry understands issues affecting farms

Mike Carberry is the best and most able potential steward of Johnson County resources seeking a supervisor position.
He has for more than 10 years lobbied for sustainable growth at all levels of government, on behalf of the Sierra Club, Friends of the Earth, Iowa Renewable Energy and other groups. He plans to put his specialized knowledge and experience into reasonably preserving resources to benefit all county residents.
He is the only candidate who has shown a strong interest in protecting farmland in the north corridor development area.
He's also the only candidate pushing for additional county support for farmers who grow food to sell locally and is actively seeking to have the county revise its ordinances to foster small-produce farms.
He knows that Johnson County must update its courthouse to make it safe for public use, allocate more to mental health services because the state has cut funding and reform tax increment financing use to avoid more taxpayer money being taken for specific uses by specific government bodies.
