Candidate with most money tends to win

In reference to James Larew's comment about whether Fred Hubbell's being wealthy should or should not qualify him from running for and winning the governor's seat ('Fred Hubbell's wealth not a factor,” June 22).
And I totally agree that being rich or poor should not matter. However, the facts are being sidelined. The fact of the matter is you must have money and lots of it to get elected. The candidate with the most money almost always wins. Money wields power.
