Candidate bashing quite the turnoff

Now that the election is over, who do you believe?

The Republican and Democratic candidates bashed each other. Can't they say anything good about themselves?

I heard only one or two candidates who did not bash their opponent. They sold themselves.

What happened to the old saying, “If you can't say anything good about someone, then don't say anything at all”?
