The Gazette offers audio versions of articles using Instaread. Some words may be mispronounced.
In her 9/29 column, Althea Cole accuses Democrats of lying in their criticism of Project 2025. “I remember when it was supposedly disqualifying for a person seeking elected office to spread misinformation,” she writes. Donald Trump told 30,573 lies during his four years in office. (washingtonpost.com) He’s continued to spread the lie that the 2020 election was stolen despite all his legal challenges failing, (campaignlegal.org) inspiring supporters to attack the Capitol and try to overturn the election. He continues to spread the lie immigrants are eating pets, even after it led to bomb threats from his deranged supporters. Was Ms. Cole able to keep a straight face when she wrote that?
