Cain’s quotes show his presidential qualities
The Gazette Opinion Staff

Herman Cain spoke at the Iowa Straw Poll in August. The following Cain quotes exemplify the rationale for a President Cain:
“Our tax code is the 21st century version of slavery.”
“The IRS has become the overseer of the American people.”
“My parents achieved their American dreams; they did it the old-fashioned way, they worked for it.”
“We have become a nation of crises, but most of all we have a severe deficiency-of-leadership crisis.”
“We have an energy crisis because of our dependence on foreign oil. We will be our own best customer.”
“We should empower the states to do what the federal government is not doing, and let them deal with their illegal immigrants.”
“ ... I have been criticized that I have no direct foreign policy experience - and the guy we have there now, has?”
“The people of this great nation are sending a message to Washington, D. C. They are ready to embrace a problem solver, and not another politician.”
“There are people who want to take God out of our culture. Our Founding Fathers understood the importance of Godly Biblical principles.”
Regarding unfounded accusations of Cain's so-called sexual advances, thinking voters will recall Monica Lewinsky, Chappaquiddick, JFK and Marilyn Monroe, Jesse Jackson's “sexcapades,” etc. Any thinking voter too young to recall these will surely engage in researching said events.
