C.R. figure skating show was a real treat

If you were lucky enough to attend the Eastern Iowa Figure Skating show at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena on March 19, you were in for a real treat. The combination of professional singers and skaters gave the sparse audience a thoroughly enjoyable 2-hour extravaganza. The costumes were dazzling, the beginner skaters adorable, and the professionals glided, twirled and spun like any Olympic star you have seen on television.
Thank you to the director, Amy Blades, for providing an amazing production. Music from “Cats” and “Les Miserables” sent chills down our spines in the somewhat chilly arena but our hearts were warmed with the beauty of each song and the hard-working young skaters gliding across the smooth ice. Hope the rest of you can attend next year!
