C.R. citizens should question speed cameras

I had the opportunity to visit your fair city over Labor Day weekend and had a wonderful first visit. I opened my mail recently and found a notice from a company in New York telling me that while I was in your city, a camera on I-380 spotted me speeding and I was being fined $75.00.
I am not one who usually drives faster than the posted speed limits, so I was inclined to call your fine police department and inquire how this could have happened. What I found out is the camera in question is located not far from where the speed limit goes from 65 mph to 55 mph. Now I have caught myself going a bit too fast once in a while in trying to keep up with traffic, so I asked the kind officer I spoke with whether or not that may have been what happened on that day. He looked and said that may very well have been what happened, there were several dozen of these photo tickets issued that day.
I live in Minnesota and paid my fine, I don't have the notion to dispute this ticket, but I do hope the people of Cedar Rapids are aware of this practice and take steps to question their elected officials on the validity of this issue.
