Bush years left our country in bad shape
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Jul. 6, 2011 3:42 pm
The Republicans must assume we are all stupid.
In 2001 Bush takes office, inheriting the budget surplus left by Clinton. Bush pushes through tax cuts in 2001 and 2003 without corresponding spending cuts.
He conducts a war in Afghanistan without paying for it.
He conducts a war in Iraq without paying for it.
He signs a large prescription drug program without paying for it.
He oversees a miserable job growth era.
He leaves the country with the worst recession in history and huge
deficits.
The current Republicans are going to fix everything with tax cuts. Just give them a chance!
