Bundy the latest GOP ‘hero’
Dick Steele

Cliven Bundy appears to be the latest hero for the Republican Party to parade out in support of their anti-everything and reoccurring hatred for their political malfeasance. This guy not only thinks he is above the law, he is anti-government and an uneducated bigot.
As you might expect, Fox was there with their microphones promoting the ranchers to resist the government and bring their guns. That is their vision of patriotism.
Add in the other 'famous” heroes, such as Ted Nugent, a draft dodger, who made his name going on stage with two military style weapons, threatening the president of the United States and the office of the presidency. Also, include the duck hunter who blazed himself to glory with insensitive racial and self-righteousness comments. Then we have Sara Palin and Michelle Bachman who between them don't know who John Wayne is or which side Paul Revere was on.
There are also group heroes. We have the Tea Party, sponsored and financed by the American for Prosperity; the Koch Brothers, who were superseded by the John Birch Society, who list the brothers' father, Fred Koch, as one of the Founding Fathers; and in the 1950s we had McCarthyism as wrought by Republican Sen. Joe McCarthy.
This hero stuff is getting old.
