Barry Buchholz has provided 12 years of stellar service on the Linn-Mar School Board. I am writing this in support of Barry and his current bid for another term on the board. In his time on the board, he has served three years as president and 12 years on the Finance Committee. Prior to his school board tenure, he served for eight years on the Linn-Mar Foundation Board assisting in setting up the Linn-Mar Endowment. In his tenure the school board has only gone to the voters once for the passage of a bond issue for a one cent sales tax. It passed and has been used for schools, buildings, and technology all while keeping property taxes lower. He has a deep understanding of school finance.
Barry’s service is driven by his belief that all children are important. Academics are at the forefront of every contribution he makes to the board whether it was assisting with the design of the strategic plan, writing the Linn-Mar Mission Statement or designing the 10-year facilities plan. The knowledge he has in every facet of board responsibilities is immense. Much of Barry’s knowledge could only be obtained by his willingness to serve for so many years!
Barry holds an effervescent enthusiasm for the Linn-Mar Lions whether it be academics, athletics, music, students, teachers and staff.
We need to vote for Barry Buchholz to continue his valuable service to the Linn-Mar Community!
