Bring your own oxygen and mask

You know what ticks me off? When a stranger to our town says to me “What is that smell?” I explain that you can't have a robust, growing community without stinky things going on, particularly if the wind is out of the east or south.
The next question is “Why don't other towns smell this bad?” That's when I really get mad. One of our visitors went so far as to rename our city the “City of Five Smells.” If our smell is that bad, we should post a sign at the airport or on the interstate, stating that if you find our smell objectionable, next time bring your own oxygen and mask.
It would seem there is no accounting for people with flawed aromatic preferences.
