Branstad earned pension, deserves pay

I would like to comment on the uproar concerning Gov. Terry Branstad taking his paltry $130,000 salary plus claiming his $50,000 state pension, which he previously earned. The Gazette, along with all of the southpaws, are crying about this amount and why he gets it. He is entitled to it, that's why. Where were you when the University of Iowa suspended one of its professors charged with a crime but still gave him his $390,000 salary?
Branstad took a terrific cut in pay to take on the job of cleaning up the mess left by the former administration. I say hurray for the governor and keep up the good work.
Just watch the opinion page and note how much liberal slant is printed. Most of it comes from the Iowa City and West Branch area. I read the editorial page daily and notice right off where these letters are from. They slam our conservative view as they spew forth their vitriol.
Shorten your time to read the letters by noting where they come from and skipping to the letters that are true and meaningful.
