My sister, my 2-year-old son Dylan and I went to Walmart on Blairs Ferry to pick up a birthday present for one of Dylan's friends.
A boy about the age of 10 approached my sister and Dylan. He had noticed Dylan admiring the toys and reached in his pocket and pulled out $10. He held out his money and stated that he would like to buy Dylan a toy. His mother said he really wanted to do this.
My sister and I were stunned and humbled. Such a simple gesture was a life lesson for my child and such a touching moment in my life.
I refer to him as little boy blue because both the young boy and his mother had blue highlights in their hair. Their act was gracious and selfless. As a mom, I know at that moment she couldn't have been prouder. Acknowledge the pure kindness in this act and pay it forward to someone else. That will be my thank you to this little boy and his amazing mom.
