Border wall must stand on its own merits
Steven Pokorny
Dec. 20, 2018 3:00 am
It is beyond deplorable that an American president would even consider, let alone threaten, a veto of legislation intended to keep the people's government operating unless the legislation were also to include funding for construction of a wall along the Mexican-American border. This kind of behavior is nothing short of resorting to the extortionist tactics of the brutal Central American gangs from which the thousands of refugees are fleeing.
If the proposition of a wall cannot stand on its own merits, the wall does not deserve to be funded.
