Bond referendum is not necessary

To the editor:
Since when did school districts rejuvenate schools? College Community School District is having a bond referendum for $49.5 million to put in new floors, add classrooms, new air conditioners, etc. In the future, they want another $20 million for renovation and construction.
It is high time for College Community and Cedar Rapids school boards to come together instead of Cedar Rapids closing schools and College Community building schools.
Taxpayers are getting tired of this rigmarole. By the way, why don't you (College) add that second floor to that first building? The school was built to add a second floor. Too, make Lincolnway kids walk to school. That would relieve the cost of several buses.
