Board involvement is questionable

Recently it came out that the Terry Branstad administration had prior knowledge about the extremist petition that is being considered by the Iowa Board of Medicine. Against the advice of the board's legal counsel, the board is moving forward with the possibility of outlawing the telehealth delivery system for medication abortion.
The governor's involvement with this process raises questions about how much influential power the governor is exerting over non-political bureaucratic boards, such as the Board of Medicine. It appears his office was a lot more involved than it wants to admit. I guess with all of the recent controversies around Branstad, his questionable ethics really shouldn't come as a surprise.
