To the editor:
Kudos to Iowa's 1st Congressional District Rep. Rod Blum on his first vote in the Congress and against the re-election of John Boehner as speaker. Although the vote failed, Blum held true to the district he represents and to the calls of those who support a change in Washington.
As a constituent, I can only hope that Blum has the fortitude, stamina and a box full of crosses to ward off the political enticements that have corrupted those before him. As long as he can hold himself to the higher standard of representing Iowa's 1st District and not the big government Republicans, we may have a chance to regain our many freedoms lost and rein in our fiscal debt.
