Bloom should have been ignored
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Dec. 27, 2011 11:11 pm
University of Iowa professor Stephen Bloom set a trap and The Gazette and columnist Todd Dorman took the bait. They overreacted to Bloom's Iowa-critical online “Atlantic” article with a Dec. 15 front-page column by Mr. Dorman and on the editorial page as well.
This is exactly the attention Bloom must have hoped for. A proper response would have been two paragraphs on an inside page.
Bloom should have been given what writers fear most: to be ignored.
