Birds, geese a joy to watch

Regarding the April 24 letter, 'Birds missing from Iowa environment,” by Jerry Moore:
You need to come to Center Junction as we've had juncos, black-capped chickadees and blue jays all winter.
We have two bird feeding stations, one in front and one in back, and both have had these birds and many others all winter. Many of them live in our evergreen trees where they are protected from the winter elements. They are such a joy to watch as they feed.
Also, concerning the geese in the city parks: I had to transport a client to his dialysis appointments a couple of years ago to Council Street and then wait for 4 1/2 hours to pick him up. My favorite place to eat my lunch was Noelridge Park where I ate, read my Gazette, and then just watched the geese. I talked to them and they talked back to me.
One time, one of them separated from the rest and came over and sat right by my feet while I was eating and no, I didn't feed them, only enjoyed their presence. What a shame not to be able to enjoy them anymore.
