Big Pharma doesn’t understand what reasonable profits are

In two short weeks we should be seeing the first of the 10 common drugs that are to be on the table for which Medicare can negotiate prices per the Inflation Reduction Act that Biden signed last August. However since then big pharmaceutical companies and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce has been actively fighting compliance by filing a string of lawsuits to block the act from taking effect. Think $35 insulin cap here.
Perhaps the party who takes so many campaign donations from big pharma could step up with their pro-life agenda to talk to their donors about what constitutes reasonable profits. Medicare pays roughly twice as much as other developed countries for exactly the same drugs from these same companies. Take a page from the VA (which is able to negotiate prices) play book and pay the pharma companies the VA rates. Maybe Medicare could do even better?
Seniors, the disabled, chronically ill, diabetics, and cancer victims all deserve a government that works for all Americans.
