Further complicating the tax code and increasing spending are not the way to reduce government or to reduce inflation. Trump’s budget bill is full of gimmicks thrown in to appease the low information citizens while continuing to feed the war machine. Individuals deserve to keep their earnings and they deserve a currency that is worth saving. The reality someone who does not even earn enough to survive paying for housing and necessities still is taxed nearly $1,000 so this and other governments can kill people is counterintuitive, let alone, nonsensical and abhorrent.
MAGA accounts, a $1,000 baby bonus tax credit for children born over the next four years, courtesy of taxpayers, is tyrannical. We don't need more taxing and more spending. We need to allow for sound money and we need to address inflation. The effects will include more people having children. Rather than pursuing gimmicky tax complications, policymakers should focus on structural reforms that lift all without distorting markets, displacing, or pulling the rug out from under the most vulnerable, or bombing them.
