Bi-weekly recycling is not a good idea

To the editor:
The city's announced plans to change from weekly to twice-a-month recycle pickup is sleight of hand.
The plan to replace our 65 gallon bin with a 95 gallon bin, and then pickup twice monthly instead of weekly, leaves people who currently fill the 65 gallon container weekly, with more than 25 percent less recycling capacity. This forces us to put more into the, already too small, garbage container. This means we will need to put more garbage into a separate bag and attach the $1.50 sticker (a fine) for excess garbage.
Weren't we being encouraged to recycle more in recent years? Doesn't this fly in the face of that encouragement?
The city's argument is that this will save more than $1 million in truck and manpower costs. Isn't this just shifting more costs away from the city and on to the homeowner?
This makes about as much sense as going from weekly to bi-weekly leaf pickup. One thing about our city planners, at least they are consistent.
