Benefit to showing bipartisan talks
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Feb. 9, 2010 11:27 pm
I wonder how many Americans watched President Barack Obama talk with the Republicans at their retreat. The TV networks would do the country a big favor by playing it in prime time for all to see.
The president stood before the Republicans for 90 minutes, successfully refuting and dismantling all of the rhetoric and talking points they have been putting forth. The sad part is that most people only saw the bits that were pulled out by the talking heads on television. Even sadder is that it did nothing to change the minds of any of the members of the party of “no.”
