Being close doesn’t put you in Time Check

Time Check is an area between Penn Avenue and short J Avenue, from Ellis Boulevard to the river. I'm sick and tired of people on Eighth and Ninth streets saying they live in Time Check. They don't; they live in the Time Check area.
Why don't people tour the real Time Check and see all the destroyed homes, damaged beyond repair?
In the 1970s, Housing and Urban Development officials came to town. Committees were formed. The Time Check St. Pat's area took in from the river to the east side of 11th Street. St. Pat's extended to Second Avenue SW. I know because I served on the committee for more than 25 years. It was under my leadership that the Time Check park and recreation center was built. Dedicated people on the committee looked into the future.
