I attended Orchestra Iowa's "Beethoven Lives Upstairs" on April 6. I was overwhelmed with the entire production! The Orchestra Iowa School had several fun, free activities for kids of all ages, including adults. Kids could hold and play various instruments including violins. Then it was on to see the production, which was fabulous telling of the story of Beethoven's life. Our orchestra accompanied the storytellers with Beethoven's music. I learned a lot about him. I didn’t know he was deaf. How in the world did he compose such fantastic music without hearing? It lasted only one hour, which seemed like one minute. Kids in the audience and adults never grew restless! If you missed this wonderful event please watch for the next one!
