Beef sticks serve as pick-me-up for troops

Many projects are in process in parishes and schools that show support for the troops in Iraq who are fighting for our freedom. The Dubuque County Cattle Women's group has helped by sending thousands of beef sticks to the soldiers since this project was started in 2004 by the Iowa Cattlemen's Association.
Numerous letters and cards and thank you notes from soldiers tell us they make great snacks while on a mission and the next meal isn't guaranteed. It helps give them encouragement that somebody at home is thinking of them and that we care.
Any organization or individual who wishes to help support the troops through this program can send donations to Beef 'n Up the Troops, 7658 Fortman Rd., Worthington, IA 52078.
