Be responsible and clean up after pet

To the editor:
This is an open letter to our neighbors. I am sure your family member means a lot to you and when we see you walking them, it sometimes brings us joy how pretty or handsome they are. Most times they are well behaved and friendly and we appreciate how you carry a bag with you to pick up after them when they do their business on our lawns.
These comments are for those people who do not pick up after them and can be angry and insulting when asked to do so. We work hard keeping our property up and I don't think it's fair that I have to pick up after your pet or explain to you that you should. Stepping in it while cutting the grass or working in the garden is really nasty.
After all, it is the law and I'm pretty sure you would be upset if I returned said waste product to you. We live in a pretty decent neighborhood and it can stay that way if we continue to be respectful and courteous to each other.
