Ballot should determine salaries

To the editor:

Elected officials should have their salaries set by taxpayers via the ballot, not a compensation board.

I really don't care if they feel underpaid relative to peers. That excuse just gives the rest a 'need” for more pay.

If the salary is not enough, quit. There is not a shortage of qualified people willing to run.
