Authors, tell us how to attract industry
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Oct. 11, 2009 12:06 am
Ah, two wise sociologists, from Philadelphia no less, produce a book telling us how to keep more bright young Iowans in the state (Gazette front page Oct. 8). Work harder to help them succeed in high school, they say. And demand that small towns find ways to build “sustainable industry” to replace shuttered factories.
We've got plenty of shuttered factories, folks. Now tell us how to attract or build sustainable industry to Iowa. Maybe that would be worth another book.
