Authoritarian rule threatens private gun ownership

The Oct. 12 column by Steve Corbin "Authoritarian rule threatens United States" was excellent. Everyone in the country should read it. Mr. Corbin did overlook one thing, however. One of the first things an authoritarian ruler does after coming to power is ban the private possession of guns and other weapons. This has happened throughout history. Rest assured that if someone does not "voluntarily" turn in their weapons someone will come to collect them. Those who are so much in favor of authoritarian rulers might want to consider this.
