Astounding to cheer for industry that just takes

Good grief! According to Todd Dorman, “a pep rally and matching shirts and a bus tour of the west side” was to be featured Thursday in support of gambling in Cedar Rapids.
All this for a sleazeball industry whose sole business model is how best to fleece the suckers out of their money? A corporation that will build nothing, create nothing, do nothing except empty the pockets of its “customers.”
I wonder if there were pep rallies and “matching shirts” years ago when productive and long-lived businesses such as Quaker, Collins Radio and Penick & Ford were contemplating establishing their businesses?
