I am proud to be on the board of directors at Tanager Place - a community resource that helps more than 4,000 local children and their families each year. Their programs are creative, outcome-oriented and research-based, and involve a wide variety of options.
One example is the 23-year-old Expressive Arts Program. This unique treatment began thanks to the foresight of longtime Tanager Place employee Bob Bloomberg. He combined his two professional backgrounds, social work and the arts, to develop a program that uses the arts to bridge understanding and communication for children who struggle with serious emotional issues. The program is reliant on donations. The fifth annual Expressive Arts Gala - the primary fundraiser for this program - was a success. Thank you to all who were involved.
