Art Staed listens to constituents

Rep. Art Staed strives to represent the needs of the people in Iowa House District 66.
His career in education included many years teaching for the Cedar Rapids Community Schools. Part of that time was spent teaching at the Four Oaks campus. These experiences have given him a unique insight into the needs of education and mental health in Iowa. Funding for both are continuing areas of concern for Iowans.
Staed's strongest trait is his willingness to listen. He has spent months door knocking the district to introduce himself and hear the concerns of his constituents. He regularly attends public events with the goal of identifying community needs and recognizing progress in meeting those needs.
He listens to those with more expertise in areas where he has little experience in order to anticipate the consequences of bills before voting. Because of that, Art is able to offer well thought out explanations of his votes.
