Anti-gun activists are living in a Fantasyland

The anti-gun crowd may mean well, but they're living in fantasyland. A Swisher woman wants 'reasonable” restrictions on guns. But any restrictions on guns are inherently unreasonable for this reason: The criminal element couldn't care less about restrictions. They will not obey those laws, and they will always be able to obtain weapons, which they will carry anywhere they choose. And then law-abiding citizens and their loved ones will be vulnerable to these predators.
Furthermore, I'm tired of this general ignorance regarding so-called assault weapons. The media have perpetuated the false claim that AR stands for Assault Rifle. Instead, it means Armalite Rifle, and there are hunting rifles that are more powerful. No, you don't need one in your city apartment. But if you're in a rural area, and someone is shooting at you from a distance, your handgun is useless.
Guns are here to stay, people. Get used to it, and reject feel-good solutions that will only give criminals an advantage.
