Animal services groups should work together
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Oct. 5, 2009 12:37 am
It may be appropriate to consider joining together the Cedar Rapids Animal Shelter and the Cedar Valley Humane Society. Both groups perform a vital function for area residents and homeless pets. The animal shelter is studying various locations for the new facility. And unfortunately, the Cedar Valley Humane Society is facing several challenges.
If a sharing arrangement can be reached, both groups can leverage their strengths and eliminate any duplications. Let's capitalize on this unique situation and have a win-win.
