An irony in Washington TEA party protests
The Gazette Opinion Staff

In a Sept. 16 story in the Wall Street Journal, the anti-government TEA party protesters in Washington, D.C., were upset with the quality of public transportation (http://tinyurl.com/r5z79d).
It's ironic they're complaining that this government-funded service wasn't lavish enough.
Republican Congressman Kevin Brady of Texas made a formal complaint to the D.C. Metro on their behalf. Brady also voted against providing $150 million in emergency maintenance funding for the DC Metro in July. Now, he'd like the government to spend more money investigating this alleged failure of a service he voted to deny funding for and protesters were hypocrites for even trying to use.
You'd think with their hatred of government they would have opted to rent a car, take a cab, ride a bike or even walk. Anything to avoid using a public option.
