Americans need clean water

The Trump Administration, with the robust endorsement of our senator, Joni Ernst, has rolled back the Clean Water Act. This has erased clean water standards set in place by the Reagan and Bush administrations. This results in more industrial chemicals and fecal waste from pigs in our water supply, leading to higher incidents of illness and cancer in Iowans.
Releasing toxins into our environment impacts us all, and even the wealthiest citizens cannot siphon themselves off from these impacts. Water-filtration processes have their limits to what level of biological and chemical waste they can successfully filter long-term.
This is a simple case of protecting public health. We need to elect leaders who will restore our clean water, including financial aid to farmers and industries who would be tasked with implementing these practices for the public good.
