Americans have seen this before

Recently I read, with some amusement, a letter from a Center Point man ('We must fix broken government,” Jan. 2). He bemoaned the state of our 'broken government,” which, in his view, is led by a 'spoiled, lying fornicator.” Now of course, to the casual reader, there is no way of knowing the age of those who write letters. But, I could not help wondering if this individual had bothered to submit the exact same letter 20 years ago. Because he certainly could have, and his recent letter would have been entirely appropriate for print back then. Word for word, 100 percent.
Don't worry, folks. We have our problems, but this is a great country. Though it wasn't easy, we have already survived eight long years of a 'spoiled, lying fornicator” in the Oval Office. You may rest assured that America will survive this one as well.
