All religions unite to fight terrorism
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Dec. 5, 2009 11:51 pm
The Nov. 7 Gazette article, “Muslims: Don't blame killings on religion,” discusses the killings of 13 American soldiers and wounding of several dozen other soldiers at Fort Hood, Texas, apparently by accused gunman Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, a Muslim. From paranoia inflicted by “political correctness,” local Muslims appear to be sensitive about any blame that these killings be associated with their religion. One could conclude that political correctness is interfering with our efforts to win the war against terrorists.
The United States is not at war with Muslims, but Muslim terrorists are at war with the United States. Thousands of Christian American soldiers and Muslim Iraqi soldiers have died to free millions of citizens in Iraq, which is predominantly Muslim. Success in Iraq was brought about by the solidarity between Christian and Islamic soldiers waging war against Islamic terrorists.
Why can't political correctness be eliminated so all Americans can unite and win the war on Islamic terrorists at home?
