All our rights are worth protecting

I understand that many people are very concerned about their Second Amendment rights being taken away or changed significantly, but those same people don't seem to care that President Donald Trump wants to strip away the First Amendment.
If you can't see the similarity between him and others in history who wanted to control what people could see, hear or read, then you need to take a refresher course. Hitler and other dictators, past and present, wanted to control what people see and read. When Trump screams about 'fake news,” he is directing his followers to ignore reality and believe in him.
That the First Amendment came before the Second tells me that without freedom of the press, guns wouldn't matter. Our democracy would have failed long ago. Americans have been cautioned by many presidents - John F. Kennedy, Ronald Reagan and others - that without freedom of speech our democracy cannot survive.
Please don't let our democracy be ruined by people seeking to undermine the very rights that make America strong.
