Agree to disagree about homosexuality, move on

Regarding Dan Skogen's Jan. 18 letter: Are you generalizing when you say, “The ELCA has rejected God's word and its policies and its teaching?” And perhaps ignoring what the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America does in following God's word?
Nowhere in the New Testament does Jesus condemn homosexuality, but he does adulterers (he also forgives them), i.e., divorcees, live-ins, even excessive sexuality among heterosexuals and the list goes on.
The ELCA's ordained pastors preach and teach the word of God every week in worship services, in Bible studies, in ministering to the sick and dying and countless other ways. What about the ELCA's missions, new churches, outreach in disasters? Aren't these acts encouraged by the triune God?
The Bible, Old and New Testaments, have one outstanding theme, in a nutshell: God sent His Son, Jesus, to die for all sinners (sins cannot be categorized from least to worst). Jesus teaches us to love as He loves. That seems impossible for us mere humans, but we must work at it constantly.
The best advice I've heard since the homosexuality issue passed is: Let's agree to disagree and move on as it was before the issue passed. Let's not let this issue divide the church. Amen.
