AG Bird contradicts herself about politics and prosecutions

Attorney General Brenna Bird contradicted herself in her reaction to the Trump conviction. She is quoted as saying "politics should have no place in prosecutions. The American people should decide who the next leader of the free world will be." (The Gazette May 31). This would surely insert politics into how people should view falsifying financial documents for political reasons, for which Trump was just indicted. The denial of these and other crimes, such as the removal of classified documents to Mar-a Lago, is shocking, coming from our AG and our governor. In fact, the world is watching these proceedings. When truth and respect for the law are disregarded our world is chaotic. Donald Trump has demanded loyalty at the price of conscience. Are these loyalists the people we want to staff our next administrations?
