After over a year, still no audit report from Iowa AG

It has been over a year since Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird announced that the state would no longer pay for any type of emergency contraception or abortion treatment for victims of sexual assault until she completed a “top-down, bottom-up audit of victim assistance.” At the time of the announcement, the backlog of requests for Crime Victim Compensation Funds totaled approximately $7,500. To date, no audit report has been released, but the AG office says it is in its “final stages” and will be released “soon.” It appears to me that Bird has embraced the same auditing process that former president Trump used for years to avoid releasing his tax returns.
