Adopt a cat, fill home with love

A couple of months ago my 71-year-old neighbor fell and broke her hip. I have known her for more than 20 years and in all those years she has been a devoted cat lover. Because of this, many people have dropped off strays and even litters of kittens knowing she would take care of them. I'm sure she has spent thousands of dollars getting them fixed plus feeding and caring for them. She has come to the reality (and it breaks her heart) she just can't do it anymore. She is in a lot of pain and has trouble walking.
By coincidence, my sister is president of the Tama County Humane Society. She knows my neighbor and wants to help. But the humane society here is a definite 'no kill” zone and they are completely full of adoptable cats.
So good people with big hearts, if you have ever thought of adopting a cat, please call the Tama County Humane Society. Not only will you receive a good quality pet that will love you forever (and you will love it), you will be helping a senior citizen whose heart has always been made of gold.
If you feel an urge to help this wonderful woman, contact the Tama County Humane Society at (641) 481-7001. The phone is answered 8-11 a.m.
