Administrative change led to median mess

In response to Harry Brown's letter ('IDOT should take better care of roadways,” Aug. 20).
We can thank our former governor, Terry Branstad, for roadway medians looking the way they do. Branstad decided to let them go back to 'natural habitat” years ago, and I agree they look God-awful. No other state interstates look as bad as Iowa's do.
The Iowa Department of Transportation has nothing to do with this anymore. When the department did, the medians looked great.
