Absentee voting worked well in Linn County

In Sunday's Gazette (Nov. 29), letter writer Darren Davenport suggested that voter fraud could be eliminated if the auditor's office would limit sending absentee ballot forms only to those who specifically requested them. I'm pleased to tell Mr. Davenport that is already the case.
My husband and I voted absentee but only after requesting them via a written form. We received the ballots along with instructions on timelines for returning them.
We drove to Cedar Rapids to personally deliver them. We were especially delighted to find that we could go online and follow our ballots through the voting process.
Our thanks to the Linn County Auditor's Office for providing such excellent services that allowed us to vote absentee and to be assured that our votes counted.
