Abortion resolution costly for state

Iowa cannot afford the expense required if lawmakers move forward on a resolution to remove the right to abortion in the Iowa Constitution.
The Legislative Services Agency says it will cost the state $14,400 to advertise the resolution if it passes out of the House and Senate this session.
Iowans can expect an even larger bill if the resolution passes in the next General Assembly. Advertising in 99 counties once a month for 90 days before the election will cost $178,200.
When the state can't provide schools funding that keeps up with inflation, why should we throw money away rescinding rights some can't accept?
Instead, let's pass the bill for pharmacist dispensed birth control to widen access and decrease the number of abortions.
