Abortion is a moral issue
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Apr. 24, 2013 12:49 pm
For the past four to six years, the secularists and Democrats have accused Republicans of having a war on women. The Democrats must be referring to abortion.
There is no war on women. This is a serious moral issue. Does a woman have the right to kill a baby because she doesn't want it? For a biologist, life begins at the point in time the sperm fertilizes the egg. This was taught for centuries. But somehow, liberal governments have changed the definition of life to when the baby emerges from the womb.
If liberal governments can change the time frame as to when life begins, can they do that again when circumstances change? Can they, as Obama science czar John Holdren believes, change it to when a baby is 2 years old or older? Can governments make laws to kill babies who have handicaps?
We have laws to secure rights of any handicapped person. Isn't it strange that we have no laws to protect a healthy baby in the womb? It is certainly alive.
The ancient Babylons sacrificed thousands of babies to their gods. The liberals have sacrificed 55 million to their god, convenience, since Roe v. Wade. Who are the barbarians? That unborn baby's only crime is its mother doesn't want it. Yet the baby suffers the ultimate penalty, death by execution.
