Abandon e-cigarette bill that favors tobacco laws

I am writing to encourage Iowa legislators to walk away from the bill regulating e-cigarettes. This bill was introduced by the tobacco industry and threatens to addict our children to nicotine and other deadly products, just as tobacco has done in years past.
The nicotine that is delivered in e-cigarettes comes from tobacco. The Food and Drug Administration has been given the authority to regulate e-cigarettes as tobacco products and it is making progress. The bill being considered in Iowa creates a new definition for these dangerous products, creating loopholes and weakening Iowa's existing tobacco control laws.
I join others who are part of the American Cancer Society's Cancer Action Network in urging our legislators not to make a mistake that will impact the health and life of our residents. If Iowa lawmakers really want to protect Iowa's youths and the health of all Iowans, they must vote against this bill.
