A thank you to Alliant crews

The past few days have given me a time for reflection. My father was employed by Iowa Electric Light and Power, which is now Alliant. Growing up, I can remember control center calling when there was a power outage. This would mean a downed power line, a blown transformer or issues with a substation. This was his specialty. My father, was all business, he never complained when he had to go out on a trouble call. Sometimes it was in the middle of the night and bone-chilling cold. He had a job to do and people were depending on him. Since the power outage, I find myself turning on a light switch. Of course, this is a habit.
I am confident that the Alliant crews have been hard at work dealing with the downed poles, wires and transformers. May we all be thankful that we are not dealing with 7,200 volts.
My father would be proud. My heartfelt thanks to the Alliant crews and the utility crews assisting them.
